I was born in Cordova, Spain, where I also went to primary school and to the Seneca secondary school. In 1993 I graduated in Law at the University of Cordova. Then I spent a school year in England, where I got the Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (grade A).
In 1994 I moved to Germany, I passed the language exam to access University and I did a posgraduate (LL. M.) at the Faculty of Law of the University of Muenster, where I was working for one year at the Department for Private Law. Therefore I am very familiar with the German law.
In 1997 I passed the translation exam at the Chamber for Industry and Commerce of Dortmund, which made me an officially qualified translator for German and Spanish in Germany. I worked as a certified translator for some months under the authorization of the Regional Court of Hamm, until I returned to Spain.In 1999 I was certified by the Spanish Foreign Affairs Ministry as a German and Spanish translator. Since then I have been working as a full-time self-employed translator specialized in the legal field.
Additional information:
I am a full professional member of the Spanish translators association Asetrad since its foundation, in 2003, therefore I suscribe its code of ethics. Since 2009 I am in charge of the legal board, where members discuss legal issues.
Since 2008 I am in charge of the legal translation section of the professional magazine La Linterna del Traductor.
I am also a full member of the German-Spanish lawyers association.
